About Adventure Puketi Tours
Barbara and Ian Candy have been running Adventure Puketi for ….. years. They live and farm adjacent to Puketi Forest and are passionate about the environment. All their tours are approved by the Department of Conservation. They love to share the stories, history and knowledge of the native flora and fauna with their guests.

Operations Manager
Barbara has worked in a customer focused industry her whole life, so when her husband announced that Adventure Puketi was where their future lay, her planning skills kicked into action. Barbara is the engine room of Adventure Puketi, managing the bookings, marketing, staffing and working with clients.

Senior Guide
Our longest serving guide (apart from owner Ian), and hugely passionate and knowledgeable about the conservation of the forest, the unique subtropical native flora and fauna, our mighty Kauri tree as well as local history and the stars in our stunning night sky.
Cherry
Senior Guide
Cherry has recently joined the team. A local who comes to us with many years as a volunteer with the Puketi forest Trust, both physically and academically. She brings with her a very diverse general knowledge of the forest, flora and fauna.
Ann Marie Booth
Fluent in German (and English)
Anne-Marie is an experienced forest tour guide with a background in biology and herbal medicine. She is passionate about the earth, the soil and water which nourish us. Anne-Marie loves the forest with its myriad of living beings and has a special connection to the ancient plants and insects. She very much enjoys sharing her knowledge.

Health & Safety - Guide
Fiona has recently joined the team after living abroad for several years. Her background is local, has a career in the health industry. Her passion for forest, flora and fauna has enabled her to join the team.
Terms and Conditions
Cancellation policy
For occasions where rebooking is not possible, the following charges will apply: 10% charge for cancellations within 1 month of booking 50% charge for cancellations within 14 days of booking 100% charge (the full booking) for cancellations within 7 days of booking Should the customer’s tour be impacted by a Covid-19 related travel restriction that is imposed by either the New Zealand government or any other government, we will work with the customer to transfer the tour to a future date at no additional cost.
Prices
Prices are subject to change without notice. All prices stated are in New Zealand Dollars and include 15% Goods and Services Tax. Adult prices apply to all customers 13 years and over. Child prices apply to children aged 5 to 12 years old. There is no charge for children under 5 years old.
General Terms
To the extent permitted by law, Adventure Puketi hold no liability for damage to you or your property or for any expenses, including medical and transport expenses arising from a personal accident, injury, illness, or hospitalisation. To the extent permitted by law, Adventure Puketi hold no liability for disruption to your travel plans. We recommend customers hold a comprehensive travel insurance policy in case of any unexpected changes in their travel plans that may incur a cancellation fee. Adventure Puketi reserve the right to make changes to the tours in the interest of safety, or unforeseen circumstances due to causes such as weather, illness or misadventure. Adventure Puketi will not be held liable for costs incurred by change, delay or the missing of connecting services. For the comfort of all customers, we do not allow smoking or vaping on our tours. Adventure Puketi reserves the right to exclude a person from a tour at any time, if in the opinion of the guide or operator, that person may be likely to risk the health, safety or comfort (including unsociable behaviour) of other clients, him or herself or the environment. In such circumstances, Adventure Puketi will not be obliged to offer any refund or transfer ticket.
